DIY Oil change on 2013 GS350
#31
OK, changed the oil and filter - surprisingly easy. I couldnt figure how to use the little plastic spout thing that came with the filter.
No tricks really, oil filter up under the access panel with 3 screws, and the oil pan drain plug located on the passenger side near the back of the engine. I just took my time with the oil filter cover...got it 90% loose and held it to allow the oil to drain...otherwise it could cause a huge mess, I didnt spill a drop, so that was nice.
Resetting the maintenance Icon was EZ...Lexus tried telling my wife they needed $$$ to "inspect" and make sure what the light was on for...(they know why it was on....greedy little @!$#@$@#$)
I replaced my drain plug with a Fumoto Drain Valve, doesnt protrude down past the oil pan and braces under engine.
I went with the K&N filter and Royal Purple 0-20. 30K on the clock and will plan to change the filter at 40 and oil & filter at 50K.
