Default 3M Clear Bra

I had no idea you could find the 3M bras online. Anyone willing to install it themselves would save a ton of money. Can't be that difficult. It's like putting a screen protector on your phone... Only a little bigger.

The installation is the most important part. Don't skimp .... I've seen some terrible installs.

I been thought that route with my G37. Barely got the hood (partial) done and gave up. It look easier but not. I found some certified installer do it for $500 included parts & labor.

On the GS when I swap out for the new LED fog light, I failed 3 times before I could installed the clear bra on the fog lens.

Or you could get it add on before sign the deal for the same price, I did that with the GS.

Its WAY harder than you would think. Especially on the GS, its rated at the top one or two levels of difficulty because elf how intricate the bumper is.

I tried to install the rear bumper appliqué on my 2010 ES. LOL...it was humorous.

I would never consider attempting to do this on my own.

LOLOLOL I can just imagine. I would never actually attempt this on my own. Itsgreat that you can buy it yourself and take it to who you want though.

Just a follow-up for those that have the time and patience to tackle this project ... it took my professional installer about 6 hours to do mine:

Don't skimp on the install. Its an expensive car and worth the professional install. I got the front bumper covered with 3m clear for $300 here in NYC. They did a great job and although I am quite mechanically inclined and skilled, I was happy to leave it to someone who does it every day. Looking back I would opt for the self healing stuff. Its thicker and a bit softer so it can bend where the 3m can't. Mine is about a year old and it's starting to show dirt under and near some lower edges.

Let a professional install the 3M. I manage to do the hood and attemped to do the bumper and failed. I ended up purchasing another bumper kit and took it to a pro. It took them about four hours to do the bumper.

Actually its harder than it seems. It goes on pretty easy (use a solution, one part dish soap, 3 parts water, spray liberally before applying) BUT even the smallest microscopic chips from road debris or anything like that, it will cause bubbles and it will look bad (even more so on dark colors). I was gonna pay lexus to do it, the first thing they asked was "have you driven off the lot?" when I said yes, they said flat out no cause of this same reason

I wouldn't attempt this on my own for sure. I get pissed off if I get one bubble in my screen protector so you can imagine this. I think my bumper is past 3M this point. I'd need a third hand to count the number of rock chips I have.

A good installer has no issues with this. Mine had a couple small nicks and there are no air bubbles.

oh really? Well I should try looking around again then. I just figured if Lexus turned me down then chances are its not doable. Especially cause they didn't even give me an option like "do it at your own risk" it was just flat out no.

Like window tinting and detailing, this is one of those things thats best left to independent professionals rather than the dealer.
