Default MGP Caliper Covers

Anyone install these on a Lexus? I will admit here and now that I know next to nothing about working on cars. I'm more of the 'pull out the credit card and get someone else to do it' kinda guy. That being said, I am thinking about getting a set of MGP caliper covers for my 2013 GS and was thinking about attempting a DIY install.

Can anyone comment on how easy/difficult these caliper covers would be to install for a neophyte?

Default Caliper Covers and the Lexus Warranty

I have a new 2013 GS. Does anyone know if installing a set of caliper covers will void the warranty that came with the car?

Personal preference here but most "car people" think of the caliper covers as a tacky add on

Your new GS has pretty awesome brakes from the factory, IMO don't cover those babies up!

Hmmm. Well "tacky" is not exactly the look I'm after. I was considering something with a a bit of contrast - ala a caliper paint job.

I'd look into exactly that (a quality high temp epoxy paint), or getting them powder coated.

Maybe start with a colored decal and see if that is enough

Ya know, I really like the looks of the white lettering on the stock calipers !!! It's sporty yet subtle.

2 questions regarding the decals:

1. Will they peel off if the wheels are pressure washed?
2. Are they fairly easy to align properly and apply?

Well, those pics of the white Lexus decal on the stock calipers just looked too good to pass up. Placed an order this evening. Thanks for the suggestions Dave!

The stock calipers look nice the way they are, if you want to draw attention to them, find a local shop to paint them the color you like. To me it cheapens the car to paint them a loud color. Black, charcoal gray with a "Lexus" logo is fine. The covers don't look good IMO.

On another note I feel you I also am a "pull credit caard and have someone else do it" kind of person or just bug my friend that knows cars to do it for me.

Well this was solved pretty quick as I would have said no to the caliper covers very tacky. If caliper paint is done right looks great. If your gonna put just the sticker you may want to put some clear coat so it doesn't just peel off from heat.
