I believe you can still drive the car...

Maybe the ticking noise is very loud, but Lexus stood up and stood by their product. I've seen a lot of other carmakers out there who won't do that. Look around on other forums...

My brother was loyal to BMW and had bought 3 generations of them. He had a 850i, 740il, and an 650i and he now converted over to Lexus now because he was tired of taking his car in for repairs. He once told me what he thinks BMW stands for and its "Broken Most of the Week" aka B.M.W.

Let's be fair, BMW's are great cars for 70,000 miles. Between 70 and 100k they have a few problems and between 100-140k they start having frequent problems as if you still have a car payment. In the long run they are quite expensive compared to Lexus and Acura. Though they are cheaper than Audi.

This is an old thread being resurrected...

But since its back up top, it should be noted that this "clicking/ticking" sound has now been addressed with a service bulletin for replacement of the front rotors (FSport only). I wouldnt be surprised if Lexus bought this car back to use for testing, research, and development.

I know this is an old thread, but for the record, it was not a lemon law case based upon what the OP posted.. Lexus simply did the right thing.

I've got plenty of friends who have had issues with their BMWs well before 70k miles. One person had an X5 that needed $4,000 worth of work before 50k miles (out of warranty due to age)

I have had a vehicle bought back due to it being a lemon as well and what I can say is, it sounds like Lexus took care of the OP pretty well. I mean it was no where near as simple to get Chrysler to buy back my wife's Grand Cherokee and it had far more issues then the OP's little squeak or whatever it was. I would have to say kudos to Lexus and sorry to hear about your bad luck, there's always a sour apple with any carmaker, just some more than others.

OP, i feel your pain. It's something you can't avoid. It happens to the best of us. I'm sure we've all had our share of car troubles new or old. Besides getting into every car manufacturer, think logically. Lexus is superior in my opinion, compared to others. Read the consumer reports. Go pick a car and read their forums, every car has identical issues. Human beings create/design these things, so of course there are issues.
The good news is, thru all the pain, Lexus bought your car back, which is a pretty big deal.
Read about the AMG 63 engines and the head bolt issues, people lose $20k right off the bat if they didn't buy the extended warranty.
Some of the things I'm going thru right now is these idiots in SoCal, can't drive, can't park...can't do jack ****. I see little scratches left and right and these lil annoying door dings from idiots that hit our car in parking lots. Just last week, we went to a friend and their neighbor parked their car behind ours w/ their bumper touching/hitting our bumper.
