Tire and Wheel Protection Plans
#2
The dealer offered it to me at checkout for $1300 which was negotiated to $900. it was the best money ever spent. I have blasted two rims in deep potholes in the tri-state area and both rims and tires were replaced at no cost. My wife has scratched the rims when parking and they have repaired them so that they look new. As you can see the tire and rim package has paid for itself more than twice over and its in the first year of ownership. Would be worth it for me at $1500 but it is negotiable.

GET IT... would you rather need it and have it or need it and don't have it? i get the W&T package with all my cars. just one of those "Just in case" type of purchases.

I purchased this with my car after as I wanted protection. I will say that I def negotiated the price, I think I got it for $695 so I figure it will probably pay it self, although I'm a cautious driver. Which plan did you get as I see Lexus now offers tire and wheel coverage.

I purchased this from my dealer for $1000 (didn't get as good of a deal as the others I guess). I am one of the most careful drivers I know but it doesn't mean accidents don't happen. Since purchasing my 4th gen GS in April 2012, I have dinged 3 rims and gotten them repaired "free" of charge. I like knowing I have this service available for 3+ more years and unlimited mileage.

Not Lexus but I bought the wheel and tire warranty on my KIA for just $100 for three years unlimited miles. It does have a payout limit of $1,200 and just last month I hit a pot hole and my low profile tire busted and damaged my rim and if I didn't have the warranty it would have been close to $600 for the replacement. I'm so glad I purchased it, it's paid for itself 6 times over. I highly recommend it to everyone.

My dealer said they offer a program that covers tires, rims, door dings and the windshield for $1,445.
Seems like a high price but it could be worth it if you have a couple problems. Its a five year policy.
Thoughts?

That seems pretty high, but I guess the price can be negotiated. Not sure if they will give you the prorated rate for leased cars.
