I've heard stories about chips that can add 30 - 40 horsepower. I don't know how accurate or reliable they are.

Those are generally for force induction cars or cars where the manufacturer detuned the performance of the car for emissions, reliability or just because they don't want lower models competing with their higher end models. VW, Audi, BMW are known for that. There is no such chip for the GS

Volvo does that too with the T5/T6 models. There's a Polestar chip that adds 40-50hp right away. I think Subaru even does this.

I did read that someone has cracked the Toyota ECU code for the trucks and some other models the other day. Lexus codes may soon follow.
