Let say that I found a used RWD GS350. It has less options compared to my car, but comes with everything I need.

I'm financing my car. Do I have to wait until my car is fully paid off ? Or can I actually get that GS somehow?

Also, what happens to the amount I owe ? Is there anyway for Lexus Financial Service to transfer the balance onto the new car somehow?

I've never in my life done anything like that before, so I'm not fully aware of the whole process.

The dealer would trade you out of your car and pay the old one off and roll any negative equity you might have into the new car. They would also be able and tell you what the new payment would be beforehand so you can make a better decision on whether you're going to be better off. You might find out though that you were paying more for interest and you still have a lot of principle owed on your car.

No, it's a luxury GS350 RWD, no quote yet...

I'm just afraid that dealer will low ball me on my trade.... My current GS MSRP was $67,XXX, but something tells me that I won't get above $43,000 from a dealer.

The main reason is AWD. Not very mod friendly. I was not planning on getting an AWD, but the deal was too good to pass. Plus, 30% of the options this car came with I do not use, so why pay for them?

What mods are not friendly? The differential in loss money would probably pay for custom parts. You can sell those custom parts to recover r&d cost.

We all can benefit with RCA's. You can get custom exhaust or modify current one in the market.

Running staggered setup creates many problems, because I have to keep the overall rolling diameter the same. I can't go with 245's in front without puting 285's in the back. And 285's are too meaty for the drop and the offset I'm going with. I can go with 235's in front and put 275's in the back, but 235's are a bit more stretched and have less sidewall...not good for NY roads.

Also, I cannot find any BBK for AWD. And nobody makes a cat back exhaust for AWD's either.


That is what I am afraid of we'll see, it won't hurt to ask a few dealers out of state.

i feel you with not being able to do a damn thing to an AWD. i will not chance doing springs or coil overs. Air is my only option and i'd still have to use camber kits etc... i'll probably leave her as is with the staggered set up, because i'm having no problems with it. you're looking at a lot on the back end if you trade in, but it's your decision, ask yourself is it worth it. i know how you feel, you want a car that you can mod the way you want it and can't. i'm cool with the LS the way she is. probably paint my calipers and add a trunk spoiler.

Thats the thing...you already paid for them and they won't get you much at trade in time. So even if you trade it...you still paid for them and in the end you won't have them...

It comes down to negotiating the value of your car & miles... Verses the value for the RWD car & miles...

Believe it or not. Yours might have or hold more value since AWD is favored in your region..


For what it's worth.. I traded in my 08' IS350 for and 08' IS F ... All done through LFS seamlessly..

I did pay just a bit more pocket change for the F

Yep I feel your pain, but I must say you will probably lose more money doing that your better off trying to work with the AWD. I wish I got a RWD as well as I can't get staggered as well, if the car is a whole lot less than yes but I think dealer will give you around 48K either way you will lose a lot on the car.

Don't work with a dealer on something like this. No matter what, you'll lose money, but you'll lose less by selling it yourself and then buying the car you want. The dealers offered me 1500 for an old honda that I sold for 4000. Thats the sort of money you'll lose by working with a dealer.
