Default winter tires

Has any one tried 235/50 R18 instead of 235/45 R18 as winter tires?
Does it rub?
the choice of winter tires with studs in 235/45 is small. only Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8.
Thinking about Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000 in 235/50 size.

привет and welcome to the forum. I haven't used snow tires in years but I don't see why they wouldn't fit without rubbing.

235/50 is 23 mm bigger then stock tires. that's why I'm asking. don't want tires to rub smth, but the difference of $100 in price per tire makes me ask this question))

I think a change in profile from 45 to 40 or 50 on the same size rims might slightly throw out your speedometer/odometer reading (not sure by how much, this is just what Lexus told me).

You could always expand your search to include 245/45. There is a lot available in this size. I use this size for winter (Nokian WRG2) no problems.

I don't care about speedometer readings. changing from 45 to 50 is just 1,6%difference in speedometer readings.
there are 2 variants of studded tire in size 235/45:
Continental ContiIceContact = $330 per tire
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 = $427 per tire.

if I search through 235/50 - it's possible to buy
Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000= $247 per tire (prices are for russian market)
and that's the tire I want to buy )
