Default Paddle shifters always active?

Is it just me or are the paddle shifters always active. I can be in D, hit the paddle shifter and the car shifts up/down. Only way to get it back to Auto again is to shift out of D and back to D again.

They are always active. You use them to down shift and the system goes back to "D" on its own after crusiing for about four seconds or holding the up paddle.

I never use the paddle shifters. Instead I use the shifter and pretend I'm driving a 6 speed manual. LOL

Coming from a manual car that's how I get my daily fix lol. I got scared the first couple of times I drove in manual while the car was cold though. This car is groggy in the mornings, just like me.

When you come to a complete stop it also shifts back to "D".
