Default Motor Trend: My Week in a 2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport

"While sports cars can be found on the typical enthusiast’s dream list, practicality demands that many buyers out there are instead shopping for a spacious, versatile, high-quality sedan—from a prestigious maker—that also looks mean and brims with luxury and cool tech. The F Sport covers every one of those bases. Second—and critically—this GS 350 is also within reach."

Nice write up.. I like this quote:

"So does the GS 350 F Sport out-sport the BMW 5 Series? No. In truth, they are considerably different cars, the Lexus being the “digital” version with the 5 Series remaining very much an analog car—and each philosophy has its adherents."

Nice read. Thanks for posting.

I noticed something deceiving though ... some of the pictures included at the bottom had to have been a lowered car because my GS didn't sit like that when I brought it home!

Terry, some of those still shots in the article were available before I even bought my car in March 2012!! These were uploaded in late 2011. I remember seeing the video back in that February (can't find the original however) and thinking that it sat well if that was the stock height. As you said, it did not sit like that off the lot, unfortunately. Deceiving...you bet man.

This second video around 34 sec shows some of the footage as well. I wonder if that car had the F sport springs?

After a week with mine, I'd say this piece is spot on. In particular I'm glad to see somebody praising the mouse, which I've found to be far better than anything else I've used in a car, worlds better than the touch screen in my old IS.

totally agree GS350 F-Sport has the perfect balance between luxury, high tech, sporty and practicality. no doubt this will be my next car as soon as the CPO warranty expires on my IS350.

No more fingerprints on the LCD.

This quote is actually full of fail to me. The GS is more than a match for the 5-Series, especially in 528i form. The 535/550 may have a bit of an edge on it in straight speed, but not much. Beyond that, I think the GS is actually better in a lot of other key areas. The GS is so much of a better value than any 5 Series it's not even funny!

Completely agree about the GS outsporting the 5 series . Case in point :

Frankly, it isn't even close, the GS thrashed the 5 series.

550 will beat it no doubt; but it's a 70-75k car and a v8 tt, compared to the gs' na v6.

the gs f-sport is actually faster than the 535i, not bad considering the v6 from the gs is about 7-8 years old and the bmw i6 t is only about 2 yrs old.

Yeah the Bimmer 550 doesn't count. The GS-350 gives the 535i a pretty sound thrashing in virtually every respect.

I'm SO glad I got mine in black. More effort to keep clean but it sure makes a statement!
