Here's delivery day...

I'll shoot some more later this week, after I dig out from under all of the work that is required to pay for the car.

Nice read. Thanks for sharing. I saw this exact car at the mall yesterday and thought about this thread. I walked around the car () to check out the fender gap (I always wanted to check this to compare with mine). The gap is no where near what's shown in the picture or video. The space is ... huge. Maybe the car was loaded?

Your second job has just started... People have different opinions but I agree with you. It's PITA to keep clean, shiny and mark free but is well worth it.

Congrats! This is a great reward for your hard work. Check your PM. I'm also in the Bay Area....

Default Premium Fuel

Does anyone have a GS 350 F sport and used regular fuel instead of premium? How important is the premium fuel for this car. Just picked up mine yesterday!

It will run fine on regular fuel...you just won't get the optimum performance or economy out of the engine.

Personally, I don't understand buying a $60,000 car and balking on spending a few dollars more per fillup to get full use out of what you paid for. Its not like fuel is $5 a gallon out there right now. Filling up my GS from 1/8th with premium was like $39 the other day.

Company pays for gas and they frown on using premium. Thanks for the info I'll find a way to make it work.

How will they know? Do you have to turn in receipts?

When the ES350 went from recommending 91 to 87 octane, the listed HP went from 272 to 268. So figure your GS would drop to 300HP.

The GS is direct injection, the difference may be a little more pronounced than that.

How many times do we need to do the 5 series vs F-sport comparison to convince ourselves that Lexus is a better choice? BMW is an awesome car when it's not in for repair. The last few years it has been out performed not only by Lexus but other manufactures. I've owned my share of BMW's and there is no doubt in my mind the F-sport wins hands down. The interior of the BMW is boring as hell, and the exterior simply protects their yuppy image. I think the F-sport is the best thing Lexus has done to satisfy the performance conscious owners, yet still offering luxury and luxury models. If you need more convincing buy one of each and see which you enjoy drive more.

Would like to see those AMCI tests with a L10 without rear steer. FSport RWD without rear steer v. MSport.

It's kind of fun to go back now and read those articles from a few years ago about how radical and aggressive the GS grill is...
