Post Just hardwired illuminated door sills on FSport

Hello,
Another aesthetic mod. I ordered the door sills from sslexus-parts on eBay, and I installed them my self. SSlexus-parts gave me a lower price than sewell parts online, CL discount.
I followed the Instructions from sewell. I didn't do exactly what they said. Anyone that wants to do it, shoot me any questions. I connected it just like they say to-do, but i routed it a simpler way. Took me 15-20min total both sides.

Thanks y'all, I asked a while back how hard to install, and everyone said its not worth it, but I like it makes the car feel a Lil more luxury

Looks good.

Still can't believe they haven't made these plug-n-play yet. Also, different people have said there are versions with lights for the back doors as well, but no one can get the part number for those.

I agree that the instructions on Sewell's website seemed to require way too much disassembly to install these. So which steps did you skip, OP?

Great post and pictures.

Illuminated door sills are my favourite feature in 2IS and they took it away from the packing in 3IS, just like the recent generation of various Lexus vehicles (IS, ES, GS, LS).

Good to know Sewell sells this part cheaper on their eBay site. I would probably do this mod when I receive my 3IS.

The installation guide for 3IS is also quite lengthy.

It looks like it pops right into the stock door sill. Is there a plug for power or did you have to splice into the wire harness? And what is the cost?

Ill do a write up soon,
Total price with shipping was $255.00, but I had some ebay bucks so I saved about 50 off that.
These are not plug and play, and the wire needs to be spliced.

I skipped page 4-6 (except ig. 2-13 on page 5)

Haaa... Last week I was reading the installation instruction on Sewell website and gave it up seeing how complicated it is. I'll probably do it if I get to see how you have done it.

anyone done this want to chime in? Id hate to go in and cut the whip open without knowing the best way to go in, which according to to this thread is not the actual lexus instructions. I got these sitting in my trunk ready to go.
thanks
