scratch resistant coating for center console
Any recommendation on a coating for our center console? I noticed small scratches after wiping the dust off the console. I could imagine how ugly it will look over time. There are a few iv curable coating out there.

don't think there is such a thing as scratch resistant... even coatings will scratch if you're not careful. i use OOC to clean my interior, i spray the OOC on a plush MF towel and then wipe the console etc, although i'm barely touching it. you can also look into Cyber Clean which is a gel i use also.

I use Endust and a microfiber cloth to shine the center console and a small piece of a Swifter duster to keep the dust off. No scratches after 15 months. If you already have scratches, there are scratch removers for plastic sold at auto supply chains. I used one to get scratches off the guage cover of a used car and it worked.

I did use microfiber cloth but with barely any dust, it still scratches. Hope to find a solution where a scratch remover is not required. It only needs a very thin film to protect it but I'm not going that rout ;too much effort. I'll try some sort of wax I can find in the garage and try them out.
Let's see how long I can keep my windows closed

Have you guys looked at the area under the roof (from outside) when the roof is open? I wonder how dust could get in there. I was surprised by the amount of dust that I saw. Anyway, I think a misted MF towel should do it. I just run the towel (more like dragging) over. Sometimes when I vacuum the inside I also run the hose over center and stuff. I have my fingers as the stopper and move them along as I move the vacuum hose. It seems to get most of the dust off.

If you want to protect the parts, have a look at either 22PLE Glass Coating, Wolf's Hard Body, or Opti-Coat 2.0 (Opti Coat Pro is the best if you are able to get your hands on that).
Having either one will definitely preserve a part better than having nothing on there, but nothing is scratch proof. Coatings in theory have filling capacity to a degree, so it will fill in minor swirls from my experience with 22PLE and Wolf's HB. Than the question becomes, if a coating gives you an additional layer of protection, down the road if you start seeing minor swirls, it may very well be swirls in the coating and not on the actual clearcoat. That's my assumption and something we always discuss at work when dealing with these products if what the manufacturers of these coatings claim is indeed true information.

Try Honda Spray and Polish or Plexus. I use that stuff on my motorcycles all the time. It cleans and waxes, leaving a smooth streak free shine.

I second the Plexus...
I would also look at a California Dash Duster. Like the bigger duster for cars, this is a little, interior sized duster. I use it to remove dust and debris, then clean with Plexus.
