Please Help! New Wheels and Tires Rub!
Let me start by saying I'm new to this forum and really need some help! I recently purchased a 2013 GS 350 for my wife. I ordered a set of Lexani CVX 44 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear
with 245/35r20 front and 275/30r20 rear Nitto 555 tires. I did as much research as I possibly could and didn't see any problems with the setup. The wheels were ordered from Discount
Tire and they agreeded they would fit with not problems. I had the tires mounted and balanced here at the shop I work at and installed on the vehicle. They look amazing BUT the front
tires rub on turns and hit the left front fender lip on dips. I started doing some investigating and notice the front wheels are a 20mm offset. I called Lexani and they tell me 35mm would
be a better fit and 45mm was stock. Discount Tire says its not the offset but that my front tires are too big. I think the front wheels stick out too much causing the problem with hitting
the fender when going through dips but if they bring it in then its going to rub ob inner fender liners more, right?? Do I need a different offset or a smaller size tire OR both? Please help if
you have any suggestions or experience with this setup. My wife is about to make me put the stocks back on if I can't stop the rubbing problem.

Discount tires ordered the wrong offset for your car so they should take them back. Lexani is correct for recommended offset in front. I have compiled a database here if you need backup information on proper sizing:

Well, the tires seem to be okay...and very close to OEM spec. I would say that the offset is what is giving you problems.

I have 20x9 +38 offset with Falken tires (which have a smaller sidewall then most) I have a tiny bit of rubbing when I turn my wheel all the way and back up. It rubs on the inside plastic (front only), but it definitely does not hit the fender lip. I am also lowered over an inch all the way around.
Offset is definitely your issue.

So switching from +20 to +35 will move the wheel inward or outward? Because if the wheel moves more inward it seems like it would rub even more. If it goes outward it will REALLY hit the fender over bumps.

Going from +20 to +35 should move the wheel further underneath the fender.
Recommended offsets the 2013 GS350 is +35mm to +45mm.
The wider the rim width, the larger you want the offset to be so wheels and tires clear the fenders.
245/35R20 and 275/30R20 are correct tire sizes for the staggered fitment.
The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types (measured in millimeters).*
Zero Offset
The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
Positive
The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars.
Negative
The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline.
Recommended offsets the 2013 GS350 is +35mm to +45mm.

The wheel will move inboard by 15mm. There is one owner in the database with a +35 offset on a 9" wheel and 245 tires with no reported issues.

If you check throughout this forum, you will find several examples of wheels with 35mm - 45mm offsets that do not have your issue. Based on that I find it hard to believe either Discount or Lexani.
