Just got mine at 54k and some change on a 48 mo lease for $650/mo. 3.99 apr which not spectacular, is ok given the car was 61k. I'll take the tradeoff. Pick her up in a couple days after some "modifications" to some Pilot Super Sport tires and the window tinting. Looking forward to this car and hopefully will be a reliable vehicle. Got the rear steer, ML, and Hud. So should be fun to play with. Was end of month and I was about to go and buy from out of state, but they got it close enough that I figured I'd keep the business with them. But again, is the time savings worth a small increase monthly and right now it's justifiable.

How is the APR tied to the MSRP of a car?!?

It isn't. Merely different things you can negotiate on.

How would you rate your negotiation skills if you were able to negotiate to a 3.99% APR on a lease?

I'm failing to see the point of your question. Time and energy are finite. I got the car priced where I wanted, incentives done how they should be, and a payment I am ok with. So I can negotiate when I want.

Dude what one can negotiate depends a lot on where one lives and how many Lexus dealerships are around... Whatever you or Barrett were able to get would be $100+/month less than what I could get since there are only 3 Lexus dealerships within 100 miles of me with each one of them 100 miles from eachother. Literally they have no incentive to negotiate, cause most car buyers don't come on to forums or order cars from out of State dealerships... He got 7k off MSRP! I would be lucky to get close to 4k where I live and they will also rip me off with APR and doc fees... but hey if the closest dealership is 100 miles away, what do they care.

Very common tactic for dealers to lower the price and then bump up APR as if that's a non-negotiable thing. Kinda like give you a 2k discount on your new car but lowball your trade by 3k. It may seem like you just saved 2k on your 60k car, but in reality you're just paying that extra 2k over 4 years. Net effect to you, nothing, you didn't really get anything. You just negotiated to pay the extra money later.

Dealers will do this whether the car is 60k or 30k. I helped my parents purchase a CRV. Dealer first quoted me 2.9%, then lowered it to 1.9% after I said no that's too high. But they made it like that 2.9% should stick like stone. In the end I went with a credit union for 1.49%.

So I always negotiate in stages, prices first, then APR. You're right that maybe in your area that's the best deal you can have right now. But prices and APR should always be negotiated separated from the buyer's perspective.

Thank you. More eloquently said as I'm having to write in shorthand and right now only get on briefly.

Cash Price was good.

Dealership made profit on financing.

Did the OP get the paint protection, leather protection, VIN etching, extended warranty etc?
