Cool Why does the 2013 ES350 accelerate better then my 2013 GS F-sport normal mode?

So??? I felt it smoother shift and faster upshift/down shifts on the 2013 Es350 loaner that I had compared to my 2013 GS350 F-sport. It was easier to hit the pedal and make the ES accelerate then the GS. The GS needs more push down on the pedal and there is some gear lags. Anyone noticed this? Maybe I should get the transmission ECM reprogrammed on my GS.

Well pretty sure it has to do with the fact that the ES is front wheel drive and the GS 350 F-Sport you have is AWD requires a little more thinking.

that's interesting, i had a 13 ES350 loaner and i didn't think the acceleration was better, i don't remember the smoother shifts either. i'll have to take it out again and compare.

This. I thought I was the only one. The previous GS seemed to accelerate quicker without having to push the pedal more. Took me a while to get used to this, but now it does not bother me that much.

It probably also has to do with the epa and advertised fuel mileage. As we all know, the throttle is much more responsive in sport. It's the same reason also the car wont remain in sport, as it would not meet the mpg requirements.

Now back to my GS after 1 day and noticed that the GS is more torquey then the ES and the stiffer suspension prevents the slouching of the rear suspension when accelerating like the ES making it more stable on acceleration. The ES was soft sprung so you felt your head pushed into the seat when accelerating because of the car tendency to bottom in the rear on heavy accleration unlike the GS.

FWD compared to a RWD, and ES has a smoother suspension, not like th GS nice stiff and handles the corners and will leave the ES in the dust.
