But he is not sure if its the clear bra working or because he is very carefull not to ding them. Maby you guys can try this?
Ingenious...thanks.

OMG I have the same dings on my GS. I have no idea how this is happening as I baby the car. Seems like a design flaw somewhere.

I had the dealer "ding" my passenger front door trim, so I guess it's easy to do (they fixed it at their cost). If they are aluminum they must be pretty thin to bend so easily.

So, no rattles after they fixed it?

I had no rattles after the trim above the glovebox and the cupholder trim was replaced. I have dings in the driver's side door panel and was told the whole interior door panel would have to be replaced at a cost of $420. I'm not having it replaced because most likely the seat belt causes it.

How much did the dealer charge to replace the trim above the glove box? I was quoted around $450, but it didn't sound right at all...

I got mine replaced for free because my car was practically new and the dealership had never seen dents like that in the aluminum trim. They quoted me $420 to replace the trim above the door panel, so what you were quoted sounds about right.

However, a few months ago there was a TSB for replacement of the aluminum trim and my dealership replaced both door panels for free. I haven't had any dents since, so the new trim must be stronger in some way. Sorry, I did a search and can't seem to find the info on the TSB but it is in this forum somewhere.

My dealer replaced the driver's side but not the passenger side for some reason but now I notice the same kind of dents...so I'm hopefully going to suggest they just order all the trim parts (hopefully under warranty) and replace them at once. I spent too much money for this kind of problem and I've been very cool about the process so far. The dealer is a good dealer so hopefully they make this right.

I only asked for the driver's side to be replaced under the TSB. There were no dents in the passenger side, but they replaced that as well free of charge. Gotta love Sewell Lexus.

Thanks to TSB document here on forum what I printed and gave to my dealer they changed both door's trims under warranty. Trim above glovebox wasn't covered. The worst is that the trim above glovebox is rattling again...

You know...I had a similar problem in my 2013 and I thought it was the trim piece too, but it turned out to be a loose speaker grille and loose wiring harness in the dash. It was a noticeable rattle at idle. Hope this helps when you bring it in.

Good news for Canadian door dings - I had my dealer confirm there is a Canadian TSB for this - my car goes in for replacements next week.
