I looked this up on tirerack, the Bridgestones are 27/29 lbs respectively while the Michelin are 23/25.
Never considered tire weight before. How does this impact acceleration and handling?
First off I compd the Dunlops to the Pilots but it appears the b-stones are heavier as well Secondly I never mentioned an improvement in acceleration, but handling; the reason a car handles/drives better with a lighter wheel and or tire is a reduction in unsprung weight at each corner of the car, it's one if the main reasons why lightweight forged alloys are preferred to cast. The Pilots are a better tire for a variety of reasons and less weight by over 10% is one of them. Hope this helps.
I have Michelin PSS on my GS & it's the best tyre i've ever use up to date. Performs well in wet & dry(Dry compound outboard Wet compound inboard), silent performer, incredible treadwear for a performance tyre ( Threadwear 300). No wonder it OE tyres for the exclusive limited edition Ferrari 599 GTO 1 downside is the pricing thou... They r not cheap! But don't save on tyres. They r lifesavers when we r in need of them!
Yes, reducing few lbs from the tires and getting forged rims really decrease the unsprung weight leading to smoother ride over choppy pavements, sharper and quicker handling, and some improvement in acceleration.
When I get my GS F sport, the first thing before I drive it is they are going to replace the tires with Super sports. I had them on my last car, will never drive a different tire again. Quiet?, wore well, and the traction, loved the traction.

I special ordered a GS LUX but I am having them switch out the wheels for F sport wheels and tires I am sure I will have a choice between dunlops or bridgestones probably not michelins What should I choose or ask for?
