Custom Drive Mode Select?
I don't know if this can be done with aftermarket OBD-II programming (I did this on my 2002 VW Passat), but I have been dreaming of the ideal every day setup for Drive Mode Select. I like getting as high MPG as I can, but would really enjoy the suspension and steering setup of Sport S+. It would be awesome to use those steering/suspension settings on Normal or Eco modes. I have a feeling it wouldn't be good on Eco given how lethargic the engine is, but it would definitely be fun in Normal.
Agree? Disagree? Know a way to do this?

Just to cure my curiosity. A few days ago while cruising on the highway, I put it at 75mph and went through the different modes and monitored the mpg info. Between ECO and Sport+, I saw an average decrease of about 1 mpg. I would forfeit 1 mpg all the time if I would remember to put it back into Sport+, because it always reverts to NORMAL when restarting. Anyone figured out how to permanently set it to Sport+?

Yeah there's really not a huge difference between the modes, certainly not Normal and Sport modes.
Curious...if getting the best fuel economy is your primary focus...why buy this car? It gets fairly poor economy.

I love my car and sometimes just enjoy by staring at her... This has resulted in a negative feedback... I feel I have too much space between the tires and the body. I need to lower her and/or get bigger set of wheels/tires.

I was at the car show today with my cousin and we were looking at a Volt and talking to some people. I was telling them I had driven a Volt, and what a completely terrible car it was. Might be cheap on gas...but a terrible car to drive. She said it best "yeah...so if you drive a great car you've got to buy gas...who cares?"

Poor fuel economy? I got 26.5 mpg on my last tank, 100% city driving.

LOL! Yeah and my Jeep gets 50MPG too. My best highway mileage has been maybe 26. Around town its more like 18, and I drive in normal mode, don't get on it, etc. From what other 4GS owners have posted my experience seems a lot more common than yours.
I gotta call BS on 26.5 MPG 100% city.

1025 miles on my awd F sport and averaging 19.2 mpg. Commute is only 5 miles on a 35mpg road and i have traveled a fair amount of highway miles. Not sure how anyone is getting even 24+?? I could care less but I haven't even been hard on the car yet. Still a great car and if I wanted the best gas mileage I would drive a Prius and be hugging a tree

not so much about conserving gas, but no point in having it in s+ when i'm just driving normally.

The previous tank, all in town driving, after 327 miles, mostly in Sport +. The computer seems to underestimate mileage. The numbers are better when actual gas consumption is measured, dividing gas consumed by miles traveled.

You don't have to drive much to get that number after a fill up.
What's the average MPG?
Assuming you have RWD,the mileage is said to be 19 city and 28 highway and you're getting 26.5 with 100% city driving?
In Sport +?
Get a new calculator...
BTW,when was the last time is was 94 degrees in AZ?
