Infiniti had the Bird's Eye view for some time, Lexus seems to be behind. Hopefully next year's Nav software will be upgraded with 3D view... I wouldn't hold my breath that there will be an update like that either.

i can't wait to see lexus implementing that. inifiniti has that, bmw and mb both have it already too. it's not a necessity but just like most features on luxury cars, it's about having it than needing it. i think it does have its advantage.

i always think bmw and mb systems are on the plain side, it gets things done but a bit boring. lexus has more refinements (round edges and corners, shadows, color schemes, etc...) making them look more appealing and easier on the eyes.

I prefer the white of the Lexus HUD over the yellow in the BMW

Really? None of my Lexus navs have ever done that, on 270 or anywhere else...

I prefer the Lexus HUD too. It is very stylish and elegant. The BMW seems a bit overdone to me.

Really a great comparison. I have a Lexus and a BMW, and although I don't have the heads-up display on either, it looks like the BMW display is significantly better. Any other comparisons between the 2 models would be welcomed as well. Saw your identical post over on the F10 board too. Interesting comments from the BMW guys. As far as NAV systems go, the Lexus NAV system is FAR superior to the BMW system in my opinion. On the BMW forums there are guys who buy Garmins and Tom-Toms because they are more accurate and more user friendly than the BMW NAV system. I use a Tom-Tom when I take a trip in my BMW.
