Question what 235/45R-18" tire?

... came on your GS 350?

Dealer has Michelin Primacy MXM4 ( 235/45R-18) on the car I'm looking at, and is calling them optional snow tires... It's the dealer's demo car with a full load... Technology plus pkg.

Any input or guidance is appreciated!

Thanks!

Mine came with those as well. They are a grand touring all season. I would rather have an ultra high performance all season.

On another note, they do ride well and are pretty quiet.

Hopefully he's mistaken, the deal offer is/was ok on the vehicle.
Will contact him tomorrow before I return the car to gauge his response....

They were the OEM tire on my GS350 with the technology package. I traded the car in for the GSF-sport which had the garbage Bridgestone All-season. Missed the ride and performance of the Michelin's.

These are OEM. The car I purchased originally had the horrible Dunlops on them. I had the dealer swap the Dunlops for Michelins prior to me purchasing the car. This was the only way I would purchase the car.

Side note - the car they took the Michelins off of was the only one with these tires on the lot. Not sure if there is a rhyme or reason which ones have the Michelins, but my car and the original car had identical packages.

I think this is the affinity:

Non-Luxury model GS 350 AWD with optional 18 inch wheels: Michelin Primacy MXM4 (Touring All-Season)
Non-Luxury model GS 350 RWD with optional 18 inch wheels: Bridgestone Turanza ER33 (Touring Summer)
Luxury model GS 350 AWD: Dunlop SP Sport 5100 (Performance All-Season)
Luxury model GS 350 RWD: Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 (Performance Summer)
F Sport model GS 350 AWD: Bidgestone Turanza EL400-02 (Touring All-Season)
F Sport model GS 350 RWD: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A (Performance Summer)

Maybe that's the case in the US, but this was a "full load" Technology Plus GS350 AWD with every available option. Some really cool stuff...... In the end, Dealer fessed up a mistake was made..

We decided on an F-Sport edition with fewer options but it's a 0 km car and is grey with a cabernet interior, instead of the 3300 km black on black dealer demo.... We have 2 black cars already, and looked like we were in the funeral home business with 3 all black!!

THanks for all the replies!!

I do not think this is accurate at all. The majority of the cars on the lot were non-lux AWD with 18's. All but one had the Dunlop SP Sport tires. Like i mentioned before, I had them swap the rims/tries with the only car on the lot that had Michelin's. They couldn't explain why one car had the better tires. Look at the ratings on Tirerack......huge mileage differences between the tires.

Switching between a touring and performance tire on the same model would make quite a dramatic difference in grip and ride quality. I'm surprised Lexus would outfit similar models with such vastly different tires.

The demo I drove on my first test drive had the Dunlops. My car is night and day difference in road noise and ride. I wouldn't sacrifice this for slightly better handling.
