Good DIY!

This should be stickied for the 4th gen thread.

Make sure you use a good link so pictures last 5-10 years down the line!

Will this bulb work/fit for GS? I see a lot of people using it for IS.

Thanks.

Thanks.
VLEDS is back carrying the same smaller 4 LED flanks again which is great news.
That bulb did fit in Lexus puddles on most if not all models the last few years.
I had those bulbs in 3-4 models and will be in my GS puddles soon.
I have those bulbs in my door panels
Vleds seems to be out of stock on those bulbs, though.I have 2 pair on back order.

I am going to order a pair and replace my puddle light.
FYI, these bulbs are currently in stock.

Does anyone know what kind of bulb is used for the trunk light? Thanks.

I have two pair on back order for two months.I just emailed and asked when the bulbs will be available.
As far as the trunk you can go with this if you want bright but out of stock.A LED panel is good too.

I went with this but not very bright but white and may change it.I just wanted to get away from the yellow stock bulb.

I see. You checked for 5k, the link I had was for 6k. Is that a big difference in terms of the color?

The bulb in the truck, the connector is perpendicular to the trunk floor, or parallel to the trunk floor?

Thanks.
These V-leds will work but they are directional LED flank.

This is better 180 degree dome diffuser and will last longer, you can get them from any Autozone for $10/piece. This also work in the trunk and vanity mirror, very bright.

I'm going to get that bulb in the trunk, thanks.
As far as the mirror puddles in the GS,if the VLEDS 4 LED flank is facing down like earlier Lexus models,it works well.

My bad.I didn't see the 6K in the link you posted.

I prefer pure white versus the bluish tint of a 6K so I go with the 5K in all my LED applications.
Now in the trunk I don't mind and will go with the 6K bulb onexcite posted.
The bulb in the trunk is perpendicular .

Not sure but the LED flank seem not facing down in the mirror puddle lights for the GS, I got all kind of LED type and only the Sylvania produce useable output and it very bright, more than filament bulbs.
The Sylvania package rate 6000K but it's not, it pure white like V-leds 5K or white just like the GS factory map lights so they all match very well. Give it a try for the trunk first before you pop out the mirror, I had to change the mirror puddle 3 times before stick with Sylvania.

Good info,thanks.
Good to know the whiteness in the Sylvania's are more like 5K than 6K what I prefer.
I'm definitely going with the Sylvania LED in the trunk.I'll probably pick up another pair and use them for the puddles if the 4 LED flanks don't face down.
I've used those VLEDS 4 LED flanks 3-4 times before and they look great in the puddles but all had the flanks did face down.

+1 for the Sylvania in the mirror puddle light

Base on onexcite recommendation, I got the Sylvania and it worked out perfectly. Brightness and color (matched interior) exactly how I wanted. No hint of blue.

I also tried out the flank bulbs and when the bulbs are locked in the light housing, they are not parallel to the ground. I would say about 20-30 degrees off the horizontal axis. More of the light is directed towards the wheel vs evenly spread directly below the mirror.

Only negative is that they are expensive, $11 for one bulb, $22 for a pair

$22 and they will probably outlast your car. Not too bad I guess. LOL
