I have the beltronics version, (see the first post on this thread) I love it. Where did they mount the actual receiver?

there are three laser shifters (long black rectangles) and then the radar receiver is normally behind the front grill
For reference, the wiring for the rain sensor (in my car) consists of three wires. One white, one green and one red (actually, it's sort of pink). The mirrortap had 2 wires. One black and one red. I inserted the red from the mirrortap into the red for the sensor and the the black from the mirrortap into the white for the sensor.
Now that i've done it once, it's literally a 5 or 10 minute job. It took me quite a lot longer because I had to read the wires and I found that if you totally remove the trim panel (instead of leaving it partially plugged in), you lose power to everything else in the vicinity including the mirror and the sensor. I thought my multimeter was broken....DUH!

Need some help guys... What would be the best way to tap my dashcam now? Speed detector tapped to rain sensor. I don't really feel comfortable connecting two devices to rain sensor? Second sensor listed as "THERMISTOR" has too many wires on connector, plus not sure if it's always on...

Post #38 was the most helpful to me, and so I thought I'd give a little back, share some pictures of the exact location of the rain sensors, and a few things I learned from last weekends install.
*Tip* I'd highly recommend using the "zip ties" to secure your cable to the base of the mirror mount. Since the power cord is a bit short, you'll have a tendency to pull on it to insert into your radar detector. It's possible to pull the plugs out and then you'd have to re-open and do it again.
I also found that getting the right side of the console back in was a challenge. Honestly, after 20 minutes, I finally gave up and just tucked the corner of my trim underneath the padding to secure it. It still looks clean and you can't tell. But someday I'd love to figure out what snapping mechanism isn't working that is supposed to hold the trim in place on that right side--it's very finicky.

***tip*** pry the panel out from the drivers side instead of the passenger so you wont bend the clips ******************
i had the same issue but i figured it out..you have to take apart the panel (rectangular panel) that connects to the "dome light" panel. install the "dome light" panel first...then slide the other panel right-side first onto the "hanger-like" piece that is attached to the roof liner then everything would snap into place with no gaps.

silly question... did you have accessory mode on? even if not, your rear mirror should have constant power.

Opssss... I misread your post Your cam dashcam comes with power adapter? I thought all dashcams come with 12V by default or you using like GoPro?
Note: Everything in the car is 12V so far I know but different amps

No, my dashcam is Viofo A119 with GPS adapter.
I got it done, I stripped the cigarette USB power adapter and tapped it to the rain sensor, and simply connect the dashcam to usb port.
