The Crown was built in parallel with the GS (and Aristo) and a very popular VIP platform as well

that car definitely makes a bold statement. if put into production, it will be toned down a bit. that pink.... is definitely different. overall i like it - the color.

No it's not but shares drivetrains etc. the Crown is the oldest nameplate in Japan and they are trying to leave its stodgy image behind. It's basically the e class/town car of Japan, sells well and used in fleets and taxis as well.

I had a Crown Hybrid shortly after selling my 3GSh. Very similar powertrain, slightly detuned as it's geared more towards comfort than sport. Can't say I'm a big fan of the newest model's front end though...

I wish I had a picture of the awesome LCD instrument cluster. Basically looked like this:

The Japanese E-Class analogy is very apt. Despite the fact that it's a very well equipped luxury vehicle, some are used as taxis in Japan (much like how the E-class is used as a taxi in Germany).

I don't think TIMG works on this board so my apologies for the large images, I'll remove the IMG tags if requested.

Looks like the reincarnation of the old Toyota Cressida.
