Not sure about this GS but my old GS didnt protect as much I think the bumper filled quicker with little pits. I'm def getting this done my cost is $499 venture shield plus I'm getting the rear bumper applique and installed for $70 so $623 with the cost of the rear bumper at $54. Def post some pics want to see what coverage you will have.

I will. I'm a little nervous about it, we'll see how it turns out.

I wouldn't be it does what it is suppose to and doesn't look tacky just don't wax it. I had it on my second GS and it saved my bumper a couple of times. Worth every penny, they take them off the car when they resell them just a heads up, some dealerships do this.

the reason why i choose 3M scotchgard PPF (paint protection film) aka clear bra is because it has a clear coat on the film and which you can wax over it and as well it won't start turning yellow over time period.

at first i thought the same as why spend so much more money on 3M product whereas as i can get other PPF cheaper and do the same job but then i read and saw first hand what happens to the PPF over time versus 3M PPF.

anyways there is a reason why premium luxury brand companies choose 3M PPF over any other brand films.

This is 3M that he's using, its got the clear coat, etc. From what I've read I would have preferred the Xpel, but the original guy I spoke to is the only installer in the area that people talk about online on enthusiast forums that seems to install anything but 3M.

Got it installed! Looks great! You can definitely see the line, but it doesn't look awkward or like it doesn't belong. No pics yet, just got back and the Redskins are getting ready to play, but I will definitely get pics tomorrow.

Installer is David Saya at ProShield, Inc in Sterling, VA.

I was thinking about getting a clear bra installed on my gs that I special ordered until I saw it installed on a car in the showroom it was so obvious on the hood you could see the line easily. I am getting a starfire pearl and that was the color in the showroom I am concerned that dirt will accumulate on the line and make it more obvious Any advice?

I wouldn't even think twice about getting the clear bra. The bumper is an absolute must.....if the partial of the hood is holding you back, then either get the entire hood done or don't get the one with the cut off line. You will notice the line and over time it will pick up the dirt and requries constant maintenance. Get the bumper for sure.If it were me, knowing what I do with having a clear bra for over 9 years, I would get the entire kit for the bumper and the entire hood, not the partial.

I have the same concerns with my Starfire Pearl. I was quoted $1,499 by a very well know installer that does most Porsche dealers in So Cal. $1500 gets me Xpel Ultimate for the full hood, full fenders, full bumper, front of mirrors, door edges, and top of the rear bumper (similiar to the lexus rear bumper appliqué). The best part is he wraps all edges so you see no lines, plus Xpel has a 10 year warranty for parts and labor. The lines are my biggest complaint so I am considering it, but $1,500! Damn! I have another quote for a different installer for a 3M partial hood, partial fender, full bumper and mirrors for $499, I just don't want to regret not getting the full treatment down the road.
