This is the thing, people put too much stock in trying to ascertain what the dealer's profit is. If I get a deal that works for me, and I know amongst my peers what they are paying and I can tell its a fair deal...I don't care if the dealer makes $20,000. Good for them, we're all out there trying to make a living.

List price: $59,911
Sale Price: $54,000 (including the $1,500 loyalty rebate)
Negotiated the money factor on my lease down from .0017 to .0007, which I think is excellent
Also negotiated $1,000 in profit out of my early lease trade in. Car is listed for $2,900 more than they gave me, which I think is more than fair.
No add ons, $200 processing fee.

Very happy with the deal, I think I could have done maybe $1k better, but I liked these guys, they didn't play around with me and I wanted to do the deal with them.

Also, what is important is you feel you got the value you deserved for the price you paid. I certainly do.
I see some really press on how to negotiate and what not but in the end their deal is not that great considering all the time and effort they put in. If one has the time to do all this and enjoys it, then go for it. I didn't get a stealer deal but I think it was a fair deal for both parties. I went to the dealer to test drive the vehicle, they let me keep the vehicle over night to try out. I came back the next day, made my offer and we closed the deal on same day. If I had waited, would I have gotten a better deal? I'm sure I would but I think I see things the same ways you see...

Default What others have paid is not important to me.

The only important thing to me is feeling satisfied with the deal I made. You can always find someone who has "one-up'd" the dealer or "paid less" then the other person.

Yes that is my point. A lot of claims about a great deal but without the actual numbers or including the other items that went into the deal, the posit is meaningless.

I still think that most people don't even know what they actually paid. Like the magician, who distracts you by having you look one way while they put something in their hands.

I have a friend who owns a auto repair shop and said he gives lifetime free alignments because there is no way someone who comes in for an alignment doesn't walk out with a repair bill that more than covers the alignment. But if you ask the people they got a great deal on a free lifetime alignment forgetting to mention how much they spent in repairs!

I have spent $0.00 dollars after I paid for my lifetime alignments it's possible what I paid upfront is enough to cover it. Most of these GS or GS-F are configured the same.. Nav, Parking, BlindSpot, etc... and the MSRP are exactly the same if configured the same way. The price they paid for gives a very good idea at what kind of deal they got.

Not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me.

With the assumption that the MSRP's are close on these cars, if someone posts that they got their car for $1000 under invoice or at dealer cost, how much did they pay?

You have gotten over 11% off MSRP which is a fairly good chop. Unfortunately you have no trade to offset the sales tax which is the killer for luxury cars.

I don't really give a rat's a** what other people paid as long as I feel I got a good value for my money. Other people's negotiations have less effect on my life than the Mayan Calendar.
