This may give you an idea on what it will take...this is for another type of grill.

Hey everybody,
I mentioned in another thread that I was thinking about replacing the horizontal slat upper grill in the GS with the F-Sport mesh grill, Sewell has it for $380.
Has anybody done this, or considered doing it? Does the whole bumper cover have to come off to swap that inner grill? If its real involved I'll just skip it...

RLJ4246: you said it made a great difference in handling. Can you explain that a little more. By the way you have the exact car and features that I want. I am totally envious!

How hard was the top grille removal and install? Does the chrome trim and grille insert come off together as one piece?

Any pics of your car with the top f-sport grille and non-fsport grille on the bottom? Curious to see how that looks...the Infiniti Q50 frontend has a mesh grille and non-mesh lower.

it was a pain in the butt to remove, it was all done by trial and error, i had to break off the plastic pins holding the lexus emblem, but hot glued it back, hope it holds in the heat. i also did the 5500k hid bulbs at the same time

Looks good so far ...That glue should do the trick - i did something similar with my previous IS350 and used epoxy to ensure the front emblem stayed in place.
Once you removed the weatherstripping and the main bolts from the top part of the upper grille, was the next step pulling the chrome trim forward to remove the entire chrome/grille insert? Or is the chrome trim attached to the bumper with screws?

thanks, the whole piece is together when you pull it off, then you have to remove the chrome trim, again a pain in the butt
