Dealer is going to try to refinish the RIMS and see if that fixes it. They also suspect that some kind of wheel cleaning chemical caused it.

They could not refinish the RIMs right. Dealer is ordering the new RIMs for replacement under warranty.

glad to hear they are replacing them. the lexus rep came out to look at mine and confirmed that my spots are indeed a factory defect. mine weren't nearly as bad as yours.

why are all of you who use wheel cleaners using them in the first place?

i just use a dry cloth and it gets the dirt and grease right off. Dont use a soap and water. grease and water dont mix.

a dry cloth will clean it. try it

This must be a joke. Do not follow this advice.

Never wipe brake dust or dirt across any surface, especially a dry one with a dry towel, unless you'd like it scratched. Car wash soap and water should be used. If you have grease on your rims you have a problem and should be taking your car to the dealership for repair.

Same things has happened to me the detailer used some wheel cleaner on my F Sport wheels and now i have spots on the wheels.

i took it back to him and he obviously denied that the wheel cleaner did it. he said the wheels was repaired before and something to do with the clearcoat wasn't applied properly but i am not taking that BS.

So anyways i am planning on calling some local wheel repair shop and see if they can re-paint the wheels for me.

I raised the issue with my dealer and they swapped mine out for the optional Full Face F-Sport forged wheels and the only thing I had to pay for was mount and balance which was like 60 or 80 bucks total! Not a bad Deal in my book! They even had to use new set of F-Sport Lug Nuts!

Wow, that's great customer service. Did you get the new rims in graphite or hyper silver?

It's always best to stay away from harsh chemical wheel cleaners even when they say safe on clear coat, hot rims hit with that stuff can really cause harm.

I can get all the brake dust off my F Sport rims with just water and a towel. No concerns about wheel cleaners leaving residue or spots. I clean my rims at least 3 times per week so there isn't a lot of brake dust buildup.

Well in my case taking to the dealer and showing that chemical cause the stain on my wheels and they probably won't change them out under warranty but I will definitely try to see if they can do it.

Id say whoever is cleaning your wheels is using an acid based wheel cleaner. Causes problems on some wheels. Id say use a pH neutral wheel cleaner. As for the marks, try using an all purpose cleaner followed by iron x and tar remover. If this doesnt shift those marks, use a clay bar. Hopefully that will sort out the marks.
