You're making me doubt. I assumed I scratched it myself with the vacuum hose but I too left the car at my dealer recently. If I zere you, I would ask the dealer to change it under warranty.

Ok. Called dealer. Replacement part is under $20. No brainer. I ordered one. Should get there in 3 to 4 days. Now, the guy at parts wasn't sure how easy it is install but figure you just popped out the old and put in the new. No instruction or toll required. Anybody knows? Don't want to damage anything when I pop it out. Thanks.

Your vacuum missed a lot of crumbs around the console. I noticed that the corners of the one in my ES were rough from use and I was surprised it didn't clean-up. I tried Armoral and cleaner, etc but the surface didn't improve. I'll be interested to see what does work.
If it pops off and can be replaced I'm sure it wont be cheap. Yesterday I paid a visit to replace the ugly green valve stem nuts and they charged me $9. They said the green caps indicate the tires are filled with nitrogen.
Well ... we do love our cars. Don't feel alone when you cause a smudge and it drives you crazy.

Thanks. I am working with the general manager directly. I was told twice the ENTIRE module has to be replaced so it wasn't even up for discussion whether or not they can replace this. I've had so many issues at this dealership but the general manager is trying to make it right now. Service manager called this morning to say they will take care of it in addition to some other unfulfilled promises.
This forum is great. I wouldn't have known the truth about this controller if it wasn't for this. Keepin' them honest!

Yep. Just pull. There will be some resistance but keep at it and it'll "slide off."
