Default What is this???

does anyone know what it is or what could have caused it? it's on all my wheels,,, in one spot only. there's 1 mark on each wheel. it's not pitting, i's smooth like someone put a mark on all the wheels with a sharpie. tried Iron X and Sonax, and it's still there.

Parking enforcement in Ontario uses chalk. Maybe NY uses permanent marker? Sorry to hear dude, I'm sure it'll come off with time..

The OP says the mark is on all of his wheels...same spot. I don't know of any parking enforcement regime that marks the wheels, let alone all 4!

Vandals???

Very odd

Is it a scratch or is it under the clear coat?
Have they been there since new or have they just appeared?
Is it in the same place on each wheel, if so I would say it is a casting fault.
Let us no is you find the cause.

I thought I had a mark on one of my wheels, spent 20 mins trying to clean it until I realised it was a shadow….

Awesome! Casting fault would be interesting as it would assume that the wheels he got were all from the same batch (which I presume is unlikely). Maybe it is a shadow too?

it's not a shadow, it's not a scratch. it's smooth, it feels no different when running your finger over the rim. i'm sure i would have noticed it when i received the car. i go over my cars with a fine tooth comb and white gloves,,,j/k. you can eat off my wheels, that's how clean i keep them. the mark on each wheel is in different spots they're not in the same spot as in the pic.

when i got the car home from the dealer,,, the next day i stripped all the dealer crap off the car and detailed it myself. i used Iron X on the whole car including wheels. but i use Chemical guys EBW and a MF wash mitt to clean my wheels. i did spray the wheels with Sonax a couple of weeks ago,,, but the wheels didn't bleed because my wheels are very clean. going to take it to lexus tomorrow and see what they say. it's really not that serious,,, it's something i can live with,,, i just want to know what it is and/or if it can get worse.
