Default severe weather warning

Is there a way to defeat the nav's audio "severe weather warning" ? Our local weather deems pending rain showers as "severe" and there is no need for the car to warn occupants of a non event.

Yes, there is a setting to alert or not. Dont remember where, but if you look in setup it should be there somewhere

After a toronado wiped out 1/3 of our town with no warning I am glad to have that warning. You do seem correct that it warns of light rain also. Also like being able to check fuel prices.

So you all have the "severe weather warning" without clicking the orange weather icon? My car doesn't say a thing until I click that icon.

Is the audio from the XM Weather app or default navigation? I've only heard the audio while running the XM weather app

You can change the setting. The weather warning on my car was initially set to off. Your setting is probably set to off.

I changed the setting to on. Now the car warns me without clicking anything. It will just automatically give me a severe weather warning and a screen will pop up. It then gives me a choice of viewing the storm on the map or clearing the screen. However, it can be annoying. First it warns me of storms that are far away and will never come near my car. Also, what they deem severe weather can be a mild rainstorm.

Here's the steps to turn off the audio Severe Weather Warning:

Push the "MENU" button on your console
Select "SETUP"
Select "VOICE"
Scroll down the list.....The last item on the second page shouldl be "SEVERE WEATHER WARNING"
Change setting from "ON" to "OFF"
