Does anyone have experience with using the Chicco Keyfit 30 infant car seat? I am planning on getting one but have not tested the fit yet. Based on earlier comments, I would expect very little clearance, if any, from the back of the front seats. Also, what do you guys think about installing the car seat in the middle of the back seats and using the seat belt? I know the middle is the safest but wonder if there will be a fitting issue. Thanks!

That's the exact model seat we had for our daughter. I installed it in the middle in my 3GS...it was tight. Being that the 4GS is supposedly larger, you shouldn't have any trouble. However, the easy exit feature of the driver seat may make it difficult to get the car seat out when you want to carry the baby around with you.

Thanks for the input. Hopefully, there will be more space in the 4GS. I may have to disable the easy exit feature if need be. Did you use the middle seat beat to secure the car seat in place? I read it's not recommended to use the LATCH on either side unless the vehicle is equipped with one in the middle and our cars don't have that.

We used the seat belt. I don't remember there being any Latch hooks for the middle seat.
