I had the opposite experience. I showed the local dealer email offers from dealers 500 miles away. The dealer here dropped his price from $750 over invoice to $200 under invoice.
I wish my local dealer would have just done what was right. Not only did they not go down on their price, but long story short it was a price we had already agreed on and then they jacked it when I got to the dealership.
Sounds like they are scamming you! Your car is ordered, but what is so special about the order? I got mine at $4000 under MSRP and it was MSRP of $58,800. OF course they shoudl be able to make a few bucks on it, but MSRP? I guess if you want some bad enough, you have to be willing to pay the price!
