Default What tires came on your F sport?

I had read on the Lexus website and saw on Tirerack that the OEM tires were supposed to be Bridgestone tires, but my car came with Dunlops. Does anybody know what the change is for? I am actually kind of glad I have Dunlops. I had Bridgestone tires on my old car and they were terrible.

I don't know whether it was a change or a regional thing, but my car came with Dunlops.

All the ones I checked out at the dealerships here in Houston, Texas have had Dunlops.

The AWD F-Sport models in this region are equipped with Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 tires. They are the only all-season tires available in that size (235/40 R 19) listed on Tire Rack. The reviews for the Turanza EL400-02 are terrible. That is one of the reasons I decided to avoid the AWD F-Sport model. Dropping down an inch in wheel diameter (235/45 R 18) yields far better all-season tire choices.

A lot more Dunlops than I expected so far.

Tirerack doesn't list Dunlop and a replacement tire yet... there are none available.

Or you could just run 245/40/19.

I switched to Michelin primacy mxm4 on my F sport size 245/40/19 and got a big improvememt in ride. Michelins are quieter, smoother yet provide great handling. Bridgestones are junk.

That tire would have a greater overall circumference than a 235/40 R 19. Also, that size would have an increased sidewall height which would be counter to the rationale for the +1" wheel size.

I switched my Dunlop Runflats on my SC430 with Michelin Pilot Sports and it made a world of difference in ride and handling. I would switch to Michelins as well when the Dunlops on my GS wear out.

The sidewall increases 0.2". The diameter increases 0.3". Hardly even noticeable, if at all. Yes the circumference increases a whole inch, which means you will have a 0.7% difference in you speedometer to actual.

Lexus touched up picking this size tire. I will be going with 245/40/19 when the time comes.

There isnt any issue or reason not to do 245/40/19. I cant fathom why Lexus choose such narrow tires for these same width rims that had the 245 mm width tires on the older 3gs!

oh,,,, the car came with Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 235/40/19,,,, should have thrown them in the garbage before i left the dealership.
