Default Standard features on the GS450h vs. GS350

Below are the specs of a GS450h I've got reserved. I did some digging through brochures and sources, to see whether or not it includes the Sport + drive mode. (Though it's not mentioned in the specs, I've found that Sport + is standard on the GS450h, as opposed to the GS350, where one has to get the luxury or F-sport package. I was relieved to find this out--not a deal breaker, but I felt the shift in suspension and steering was the most noticeable difference in a test drive of the GS350.) But, I also noticed a number of other standard features that are part of packages on the GS350. More after the specs themselves:

First off: wha-whoo! Mark Levinson audio! Wasn't needing it, but I'm not complaining about having a home theater in my car. Second: on that note, the wide screen navigation: no nav. would be a deal-breaker, but I have yet to see a GS offered without it. Why not just make it standard and be done with it?

But, getting back to the 450h vs. 350 standard features:

The GS450h comes standard with rain-sensing wipers. I noticed a thread around here earlier that got me worried, when I saw it part of the 350's luxury package, its 450h counterpart conspicuously absent on my reserved model. It also has some additional standard niceties, like a heated steering wheel and pretty much the entire contents of the GS350's cold weather package. Indeed, about the only thing missing from GS350's luxury package are rear seat controls and shades, and a nicer-looking, wood-accented steering wheel. That, and the 450h's luxury package also adds unique all-LED headlamps. (I would think these could be added after-market, if the standard headlamps with LED running lights weren't cool enough.)

Sure, the markup is quite a bit, but it looks like the hybrid offers more than just better gas mileage. For the extra price, you get some additional luxury amenities as well.

I like the bamboo wood; I do wish this one had it on the steering wheel. I do agree that the brushed aluminum looks sharp in its own right.

Heck of a lot of car there.

Does it have adaptive cruise? Or is that an option you chose not to get?

Either way, congrats.

When do you expect delivery?

It does have adaptive ("dynamic radar") cruise; that is included with the pre-collision system / driver alertness monitor. That also implies that this feature might not come with very many GS models.

I did the purchase paperwork the day before yesterday, but it looks like it'll be a full month before I get delivery. Argh. It reaches port in California at the end of the month, and they predict two weeks between then and reaching the dealership.

Still, it will be nice to skip the sitting around for two hours while they pull credit reports, talk with supervisors, and commune with the netherworld. This is the most highly anticipated car I've gotten. I just hope it doesn't pull a "Phantom Menace" on me. But, everything so far looks very promising, and Lexus' track record so far has been really good.

That's good to know. I'm looking forward to that feature, as I do a lot of long-distance driving on cruise, and it's annoying to have to switch off whenever I hit a pocket of traffic density.
