Default Key Fob Hint

Other forums have highlighted how key rings attached to the emergency key in the fob can result in a lost fob if you bump the release button for the emergency key. My dealer attached one of their (gaudy) key rings to a little loop on the emergency key of each of my fobs. I pitched the ugly dealer key ring and attached my own ring to the solid metal loop on the other side of the fob.

i guess it depends on what you do. if you ever go for valet, supposedly you can use your mechanical key to lock the glove box with your valuables, and then only hand over the fob (minus the mechanical key) that you keep with yourself

Yeah, I totally thought about that last night but I didn't want to scratch up the solid loop on the other side. Guess that's what its made for. You've got PM BTW. ~Tu

I hear what you're saying but you have got to do a lot more than "bump" the release. Its embedded right near the corner so you'd have to apply a focused pressure to just that point in just the right direction. I don't imagine that happening much--at least hasn't happened to me yet. I find the valet advantages outweigh this small risk. Has it released accidentally on you?
