well let me tell yu from 3GS perspective... AWD is heavier, so when you go into tight mountain curves, it will be harder to handle (but 4GS is much improved from 3GS there), HOWEVER at the same time, AWD never loses traction. You can drive it anyway you want, pedal to the metal, it will always go where you point it :-). I was impressed with my 3GS AWD in that regard.
