I need new tires, looking for suggestions
Hey guys,
I just got my new wheels Concavo CW5,s 20 inch and I now need tires for them. I am going to run 285-30-20 and 245-35-20.
I have had many many tires of the years and my absolute favorite were Michelin Pilot sports on my 21inch rims when I had my 7 series. They were way to expensive though $500 a piece roughly. I have had P zero neros and they wore out fast and I was underwhelmed.
So originally on my GS I wanted to get Nitto extreme 555's. I have had them before and they were good tires, but my guy at discount said that the rears were in GA and I would have to pay for freight and wait longer blah blah blah.
So he told me he could get me a decent deal on Falken FK 452's or the Hancook Ventus V12, roughly about the same price $900 OTD with swapping sensors and all of that good stuff.
Does anyone have any opinions on these two different tires?
Thanks,
JP

Best tires I've ever had were the General Exclaim UHP's, then when they were discontinued I used the AS-03's and loved them even more. The tires are amazing in both quality and function. Yet are wayyyy underpriced

Dont cut corners because your life is riding on those tires. I recently bought some Michellin PSS for my HRE P47SC on the Porsche and they are the BEST tires out there yet at very affordable price. GL bud.

I wholeheartedly prefer Michelin tires but I had a bad set on my GS so I currently have Continental Contiprocontact tires which I am very happy with and they ride and handle much better then the Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires. I would never skimp on cheap tires ever due to poor quality, tread wear, traction, etc.
For your rim size I would stick with Michelins and you can get the Pilot Super Sports in the front and rear sizes you provide. IMO they are the best for this rim size on this car.

WOW--you really burn through cars!!!!!!! Amazing.
I have a GS350 F-sport White/Cabernet (like you), and 2009 C2S pdk, chrono, AWE center muffler bypass, IPD plenum
I now have the best combination of 2 cars that I've ever had... the F-sport and 997.2 Porsche!!

Let me first say that Michelin PSS is one of the best tires out there period! I tried them on my M3 and they were fantastic in every way. Hancook Ventus V12 are actually a real nice tire. I tried them on a BMW 750 and i was very impressed with them. They are quiet and comfortable but they have soft sidewalls so slight loss to steering feel compared to the Pirellis' that I had on before.
