This grille looks very good. The protective bar looks like it is matte black rather than body color, and the fact that the chrome surround is seamless makes it seem like one large grille rather than a split grille.

It is much closer to the concept than the conservative photoshops I've seen by the old school guys on this board. I like it. Very stylish. On August 18th, I might be annoyed there isn't a fast version so I could get this instead of the Beamer.

I don't think there is chrome surrounding the grill, just the arrow head motif at the top. Lexus probably just used highlights to highlight the grill shape. I hope the separator will be black and not body colored.

I think Mr. Burns is right. I DLed the photo off Lexus' press site (it's huge) and you can tell that the chrome is only above the seperator bar.

Really, really impressed so far!! Front end looks ANGRY!

But it looks like there is clearly a bright rim outlining the grille in this pic?

It looks like maybe chrome on top part, and matte metal finish on the rest, but a continuous metallic outline nonetheless.

The hood also looks relatively flat. I hope this is the case. I find the steeply sloping hood of the 3GS makes it much more prone to getting dirty.

^I think what you're seeing on the bottom part of the grille is just a lighting effect via photoshop.

The silhouette of this car is much more appealing than the current model. more muscular, aggressive. can't wait to see this car.

I agree, and hope that's not a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo or 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8-like all-around chrome hoop.

Further, I'll go on record as one of the conservative old-school guys that hopes that the horizontal divider between the upper and lower grilles is body-colored.

Never mind, I found the high res photo, did a quick enhancing:



The arrow head motif is actually stretched a bit to incorporated part of the grill, can't say I expected that. The grill separator looks like it will be part of the body, and probably body colored not black.
