I agree, the current GS460 weights 4000 lbs, I just dont see how they can drop a bigger engine in the GS-F and still lose 500 pounds.

GS 300h? Ah yes, that would be more efficient than the GS 380h I guesstimated up there. I was still thinking of the GS 450h chart-topping approach (remember before the F, the idea that h was to be the uber-power version?). A GS 250/300h/350/F approach could further enhance efficiency.
And yes, the 525i is an analogy, I do see those cars driving around. A GS 250 could attack the ES vs. GS issue in an interesting way. It would offer a sportier-styled (and hopefully performing in some way) vehicle but at a lower displacement than the ES, unless the ES 240 comes here.

As stated, a lot of this makes sense for Europe.
I have a feeling maybe the 5.0 gets bored and stroked to 5.2 or 5.5 liters and THEN it can go in not just a GS-F but a LS-F and next IS-F as well, thus sharing production costs with the engine as the Germans do.

Agreed. The weight just doesn't sound right unless the GS-F receives a CF chassis like the LFA. Expect pricing to start from 120k.

we know hybrids are for Europe only so I can indeed see maybe 2 or more different hybrids there starting with a 250h since the HS 250h is not going to Europe.
As for America....I assume they are gambling gas prices will rise again...however I can't see them having ONLY a GS-F V-8.....

lighter
more aerodynamic
less powerful
hybrid can get some better MPG. IMO, I am more impressed with the RX 450h 30 MPG rating with 285hp, 4500lbns and a high CD than the 35MPG rating of the 187hp, 3500lbs, lower CD HS.

you guys hit it all on the weight, it just doesn't make sense. 3500lb on gsf, that seems quite low for the car (looking at the normal version and competitors), and that will almost make the isf look retarded
and if they really choose to drop the v8 (other than gsf), it will be a huge mistake imho (i am only talking about the US market). v8 sales is never big for any of the comapnies, but they need to keep it in the lineup
there are a lot of factors to performance, but given the market and how that segment is, 460hp vs obvious 500+ from bmw and mb (next generation probably even more), it won't go well i think

I cannot believe you GS430 and GS460 owners are still complaining
