Default Can a cone air intake be put on a stock INTAKE?

Hey guys,

I want to buy a K&N intake, but don't want to use the 93 civic intake as I prefer the look of the stock intake. Can a cone air intake be put on a stock INTAKE? thanks

mass airflow sensor.....that big hunk of metal inline with your air intake to the intake manifold. that has to stay no matter what.

funny, i didn't use any and it's probably cuz the adapter on 96-97 gs are a little different...
i only used that civic pipe and attached the cone filter..........that's it.

Here's a MAF and K&N conical filter.

If you're going to do this do some research on proper heat shielding and airflow. Conical just sucks in engine heat compared to the stock air box if left open.

What's wrong with the K&N drop-in filter?

Nothing is wrong with the K&N drop in. That's what I have decided on getting because I love the look of the stock intake.

if you want to look half stock and half modified........check this out.............
that's the set up i have on my car........i have the "blitz" drop-in filter which you can't see but i also
retain the stock air box.....this set up works better for than having the box replaced with cone filter
itself. it just made too much noise which annoyed me in the long run.

That looks really good, but too bad smog checks don't allow the aftermarket intake.
