Default Strange Ticking?

Strange ticking coming from the front of the engine, usually after a quick rip. Doesnt sound like ticktickticktick its kinda infrequent ticktick normal tick normal tick tick tick. Maybe something coming up and hitting the valve cover? no idea I saw a video of a 2JZGTE with a similar ticking noise but louder and more frequent which turned out to be the serp tensioner.

Eventually the ticking goes away but just curious if anyones had anythin like this before? I can post a video up tomorrow if i catch it again

Im praying its nothing too serious cause im a broke *** student :/

Is the front crank pulley coming off?

I've had that happen twice to me.

This is my delaminated front crank pulley. My previous one came completely off and took out my radiator and belts, but this one I caught in time. Made squeeling/ticking noises.

You could pull off your timing belt cover and see how the timing belt looks, shine a flash light down there to see if you see anything that could be making the noise.

Very very late update, I was finally able to catch it ticking on video. Again it is random, usually appears after some fun. Doesnt seem to be affecting the performance though. I put the mic against the front timing belt cover

My 93 gs300 is producing a similar random-tick,
it does stop ticking completely at times.
I imagine the sound coming from the water pump.
or from the bottom of the timing cover.

Otherwise, ny enigine seem to be running well - I just
drove 2300 miles with this "condition" and no related
issues.

Good to know I am not alone hahah Hopefully the waterpump isn't going bad, previous owner said he did not replace it because he did not have any time
