Is300 seats into a 1st gen gs300
#31
The seats are in and fully functional including the heater. My welder made 2 sets of D.I.Y brackets but he is hesitant to sell them because of legal issues that could come up if something bad were to happen during a crash. I understand where is coming from so I have pushed him to sell them.

As soon as you modify any safety system (owner) you have defacto rescinded your rights for claims of damage as long as the sale of the item specifically states he makes no claims as to the safety of the brackets. I would love to see a set, and also the harness changes you made to get everything working. I am seriously considering doing this SWAP, and would prefer not to have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks for your response.

Were you ever able to take pics of the harness and bracket modifications? I am still interested in the brackets your friend made, have seats now waiting to go in./Thnx

Since this is the newest thread I could find on the subject, I thought I'd post here.
I just installed 04 IS300 seats in my 93 GS300.
I got manual IS300 seats, I installed both the front and rear.
The fronts required very little mods to 3 of the brackets for each seat - the front mount, closest to the tunnel bolted right up with a little bending - as did the front one nearest the door, but that one was about 1.5" too low.
Both rear mount points are wrong but I re-used the G300 bracket off the stock rails for the one nearest the tunnel, and simply relocated the rear one nearest the door (moved where it was mounted to the slider).
For the seat belts I simply bolted it to the rear outer seat track mount bolt.
For the rear seats, I relocated the upper tabs for the backrest to hang on ( it mounts using the exact same style "hooks".
The backrest lower mount points (only the 2 outers) bolted right up with only minor bending.
The lower cushion, I made some quick brackets and bolted right up - it's amazing how close these are!
Will post some pics when I get a chance, but manual seats were easy to do with some basic fabbing and welding. Rear seats took a bit longer but were easy too.
