I just picked up some used vvt-i coils and supra 6-speed serpentine tensioner setup. I plan on using all new oem toyota water pump, timing belt and seals to get my car spiffy for its 120,000 mile maintenance.

Is the Supra 6-speed serpentine tensioner setup different from the GS300 or Aristo setup?

Yes.

The 6 speed supra tensioner was designed by toyota engineers specifically for manual transmission 2jz motors. Some Is300's come with it that had manual transmissions, but I am unsure of the W58 SC300's...

You can see it in these images.

This absorber on the serpentine tensioner help prevent the serpentine belt from coming off between hard shifts. Which obviously was an engineering change required for the manual transmission cars. It retails for over 350 new but I decided to pick these certain parts up used for my maintenance.

Been a long time since I have been on here, but I figured I would update on how things are progressing on my "plans."

What I have planned.

-new water pump

-GS300 rear bumper

-LED reverse lights
-Some kind of F/I controller and tune - Removed
-Suspension bushings - Removed
-3.26 Gears

Maybe plans:
-New leather for seats - Removed
-New carpet - Removed
-New headliner - Removed
-Fix power steering leak(s) - Done
-Brake upgrade (not BBK) - Removed
-Wheels and tires
-Coilovers
.
So I have decided some of them wouldn't be worth it, since I plan on getting rid of it soon.

I got a few maintenance items done, planning on getting my exhaust down pipe cleaned up with a new v-band flange and flex section before the new year.

Installed my walbro 416, did a 12v mod
new shift boot for my manual trans setup
installed new upper control arms, lower ball joints, brakes all around
fixed a water leak, as well as tightened a drive shaft that was coming loose at the rear flange.
Installed a boost gauge on my steering column cover.
New wires and spark plugs
changed out my water pump, timing belt and tensioner, also re-did my vvt-i gear o-ring to fix a leak
installed a strut bar on the front which tightened up everything.

I really need to go through and replace all of my twin turbo vacuum hoses and pressure hoses, only holding 9 lbs right now and bleeding off. Its just such a hassle to do all of that lol.

Are you using the OEM strut bar? I want to get one but I wasn't sure if it would make a difference.

I think it made a great difference, definitely worth the price I got mine for.

So Its the end of the year and so far I got nothing. Long story short, I have a GS300 in Maine that I have to pick up. Its lowered and apparently in good shape. It has no header. I was originally going to fly out there with my cousin and drive it back, but the guy who has the car told me it isn't ready. Haven't heard anything from him since he told me it's not ready.

Well Im getting the whole car repainted and installing the Aristo spoiler right now and I already have the suspension and rim and tire setup how I wanted so next up is hopefully a 1JZ swap in February! I know everybodies gonna tell me to go 2J but for the price I cant really go wrong with the 1J and my friend already did the wiring for his swap so he said it would be no problem to do it to mine

I am sure you will be happy with a 1JZ!! What color are you painting it? What are the specs on your wheels?

Just repainting it black, I had the G35 Rays 19s but I got tired of big rims and skinny tires living in NYC so I got a set of MK4 rims with some nice Hankooks and have been super happy with the ride ever since
