Single Din or Double Din Radio
Just curious if you guys are running single din or double din aftermarket radios. Can you anyone post a pic of your single or double din set up and let me know if you have noticed any advantages or disadvantages of either. I wanted a double din because I thought the single din might look out of place but I have a pretty nice Kenwood with bluetooth and a ton of features just sitting around doing nothing plus double dins seem to cost a bit more. I don't really think there are any real advantages of a double din over a single din except maybe touch screen but I don't really want that. If I go with a single din I want to find an installation kit that with give it a finished look instead of just a head unit with a giant pocket below it. Thanks for any input!

Where did you guys find your information for installing the aftermarket head units. I saw the write up in the DIY section but it was pretty confusing to me and the pics no longer work. Does any company make a jumper harness or do I still have to hard wire it in? Thanks in advance!!

No jumper will work, unless you make your own. Most just hard wire, that's the way mine is. When I first hooked it up I butt-connected all my wires, but I went back through and soldered all my wires and tucked all the extras back out of the way.

So you just ran all new wires from the headunit to the speakers? I want to wire the new head unit using thr existing factory wiring to avoid running new wires all over the car. Is that possibly?

Not sure. I have seen somewhere at some point someone being able to get the factory wiring to work with the aftermarket stereo. I have two amps so I just ran speaker wire to my 4 channel amp. I did try to hook up my factory speakers to my current head unit and that didn't work so I bought an amp and ran new wire. Running the wires isn't the hard part the hard part is trying to make everything look like a professional did it. I will try to look for that wiring/head unit thread tomorrow when I don't have to work.
