Gas mileage
What is your mpg? How do you measure it? How do you drive you car? Mods?
Mine is almost 100% stock. Have a set of 18 inch wheels, that's about it. I struggle to get 20 mpg. I fill it up, reset the trip counter and when I refill, i divide the miles driven by gallons used. Can't get more than 21 mpg driving like grandpa...

I get like 15-16 mpg with my 4.10 rear gearing, 5 speed manual and twin turbo motor :P
I really need to change my gearing so im not boosting at 2750 in 5th gear @ 70 mph
Also, like track said, I really dont care much about gas mileage until I get that standalone ecu so I can tune it all differently! I plan on going megasquirt.

Using the same methodology as you, My GS averages about 19 mpg, bone stock except 17" w/245s. My SC 300 was about the same when it was daily. Both struggle to better 20 mpg when driven conservatively. Current stock SC 400 Daily beats 20 pretty regularly. Like your TT supra, I think the 2JZ cars just must be pushed harder to achieve my personal speed desire. I drive every car with the same expectations of acceleration and cruise speed, so each car's MPG is a reflection of how hard it works to achieve the same goal.

Just wondering what octane you guys are using and do you see a difference in MPG with different octane levels. I use premium (93 octane) not for any particular reason but just because I use it in just about everything I own. I know 93 is what's recommended just wondering if anyone is using something else and of you see a difference?

I only run supreme or premium which is 91 octane here as well. I got a heavy foot with this new twin turbo though!

Those guys are changing out their coolant temp sensors for a new one and are seeing pretty decent increases in fuel mileage. Some are pulling their sensors out and find years of build up and some are checking resistance in the sensors and finding out that while still within range and not causing a CEL the readings are still off. So I thought to myself I would call the parts store to get one but I kept reading and found that they were seeing better results with the OEM sensor. Checked with my parts guys at the dealer and there is 1 in stock for about $52, depending on how I feel I may put it in tomorrow. I am kind of excited about the possibility of gain to 2 to 4 mpg like these guys. Even if its only a 2 or 3 mpg increase, with an 18 gallon fill up thats 36 or 54 miles extra in every tank. That would put me over 400 miles per tank full!!

It's funny i was reading the other day the gas tank in the first gen is300 in the original brochure was like 21.5 gals - i dont want to test that but at 230k miles i get about 300 miles between fill ups and its about 16.5 to 17 gals.
