Default okay guys. . input needed. .poll sort of

So which would you pick for this project?
Volk AV3 18/9, 10

Volk GT7 18/9, 10

both are in decent offsets that will clear bbk and I can space them to the fit I want. Both cost about the same.

Which would you do?

I like the lesser spoke design of the Volk AV3

I like the Volk GT7 better but I think the Volk AV3 will look better on the car.

wellll.. this gets even more interesting. now there is a 3rd set in the mix.

Volk Racing GT-C, Face 1 and Face 2. I don't have full specs on the front, but the rear is 20x10.5 +22 with 275/30/20s in good shape. Front don't know about the rims but the tire is 245/35/20, so probably 20x8.5 or 9.5.

I'm not one for dubs usually, but these may just be the thing to toss this build over the top. I have to punch the numbers into the fitment calculator and see how it works out., Then there is shipping.. all depends.

One thing for sure though, I'm having a lot of fun building this car and I really haven't even done anything yet.,

some local bites on the engine and turbo package too, so coilovers may be on the car soon.

I think the GT-C is the most badass wheel, but in 20's I don't really know how the ride will be on tires like that. I found an aristo with 18" GT-C's and it looked pretty sporty, no doubt the 20's would give it a luxurious VIP feel and I find myself going back and forth between the AV3's and the GT-C's

back when I had my first GS I swore that one day I would "drift on dubs" but I never made it. Only had 18s on that car.

Not that I'd be drifting this car, not officially anyway But the the stuffed wells look of properly sized big lip performance wheels would definitely be cool to rock for a while.

I took some measurements on the GS while I had it here.. from the surface of the rear rotor hub to the edge of the stock fender I found 93mm, 80mm for the front.

Off to do some figuring out... for some reason the fitment calculator won't open here on the work computer, so i guess i'll tap it out on the phone... grrr

Well since I can't get ANY of the those sellers to contact me back...I guess they are gone.

I'll probably go ahead and buy coilovers with this cash...BC most likely. I've been trying to trade this 2jzge with turbo kit for a set of coilovers, or $1000 but it is not going anywhere and I'm impatient. .lol.

I'll probably just keep the 2jzge and rebuild it with gte internals to sell a boost ready 2jzge for a lot more down the road. .. But then there is another engine stuck in the garage...

Stay tuned

Have you looked into PBM coilovers instead of BC?

I honestly haven't. This car will be a comfortable dd and I had BC on my last few BMW and was happy with them. Cost is a factor too, staying at $1k or under shipped sticks with my build budget for this car.

I'd love to find a used set on Craigslist for a few hundred, this car so far is entirely craigslist sourced, and has cost me almost nothing in the long run.
I would consider other brands, But not really into Megan Racing, or used HKS with unknown mileage.

I had Racing Logic on my last GS and they worked really well, softened up very well too for cruising with the wife. Don't think they are around anymore, I'll bet anything that the Megan, BC. .. All the Taiwanese brands all are about the same.

This GS will see only street duty, maybe a HPDE track day or two when it is done

Yeah the PBM's are going to be a little too stiff for most who want a luxury DD that can soak up bumps. Definitely an intro level track duty setup for our car or VIP stance

Yes in the time of my last GS, Power By Max was just offering s13 s14 parts and hydro hand brakes.
I'd consider D2, Stance, BC pretty much the same, But the BC have front camber plates over the rest.
Ive had race cars and double duty cars. Ready to just drive comfortably in a nice car that has some power. Getting old I guess.

Plus I have the Porsche I'm restoring ground up as a nice GT car for when I want to row the gears, it has Konis and upgraded sway bars, sport seats..etc. or I should say , it will. It is all in another pile right now in the garage.
