Default Are there any write-ups on replacing a steering rack?

Hey guys, I just ordered a new steering rack and pinion for my gs and I've been looking all over for a write up but no luck. The closest thing I saw was a write up on an sc300 by D3AN. Anyone have a link to a write up?

Where did you order your rack and how much was it? I need a new rack for my car too. I haven't done a rack in a 1GS but from what I can see it looks like the worlds easiest rack. The rack is mounted lower than any other rack I have ever seen. The only part that should take and real effort is knocking the outter ties rods from the knuckle.

I got my rack from this site: http://www.jorgenauto.com

It cost me around $345 shipped with return shipping for the core included in that price. I'll be getting $125 back when I send the core too. I was gonna buy a reman. one from Lexus because I get the employee discount there through a friend of mine who works there but he told me that they were having lots of problems with OEM reman. units coming in that they started using the company above and even got the warranty department to cover the cost of the aftermarket units. So I called them up Monday and they had one in stock, shipped out yesterday and will be here tomorrow.

This is the link I was referencing to about the steering rack replacement for the SC300 but I heard it's very similar to replacing the one on our cars. I just didn't know if anyone could verify or not:

That is one hell of a deal for a rack!! I'll definitely make note of this thread. How did it go with the install? Thanks!

The install went well and the rack is working perfectly! I highly recommend that company if anyone's rack needs replacing.
