What should I do?
#16
I should have posted this in another members thread.
The colors of the HID are a HUGE decision. Natural sunlight is 5300 K (Kelvin)
To get the best light in rain, ice, snow, night etc etc etc try to stay as close to that as you can. The "pretty blue ones" are decent, they are around 8000 K but dont go past this. Trust me, I got the "cool wild purple ones" at 14000 K and learned the hard way. LoL
The lower the Kelvin, as in 3000 - 3500 is yellow, which is awesome in snow and fog. My fog light bulbs are those and help tremendously. My high beams are 6500 K (not HID but Japanese Spec R).

So thanks to this kick *** guy: Nixspeed, I got some new ideas today. A lot of it was performance and some other things (audio, etc), but defiantly awesome to see a good 1ST Gen!
I have the dark grey/light grey interior. So what I'm going to do is do a matte black vinyl on the wood colors in the car (around the shift ****, radio, and on the ash tray). I also ordered those blue LED's for my gauges. So I'll probably order some black floor mats, and then get black seat covers (until I buy some new seats). Then I'd like to install some blue LED's on my floors and then replace some other lights in the car with blue LED's.

My LED's should be here sometime next week! How much time/hard is it to install them?

It's not too hard to replace them but I'll tell you what no one told me. They are polarity specific meaning you have to get the positive and negative right except they aren't labeled so it's a 50/50 chance so loosely install them and test all the lights then document which ones don't work then just flip them 180°. I had a hell of a time with mine then quit after like ten tries in and out just because I was pressed for time. I need to pull out out and do it again. I will say quality LEDs are not much more but way better. I got mine from a board member here and half of them burned out already. I'll be buying all mine from diode dynamics from now on. I used them in my mr2 and they were fair priced and way better quality just visually.
Glad you got to check out my car and get some ideas. Hope to see progress soon on yours.

Ive got mine down to a science. I can do install and test in under half an hour. I'm kind of mad though because my new blue lights two or three of them have already went out.

To take the whole gague panel out, is it just the two screws on the top of the plastic?

Today I also ordered some vinyl, a headlight renewal kit, and then matte-black plasti dip paint!
I'm going to plasti-dip the Lexus symbol and then the "Lexus" word in the back. I'm also going to try doing the chrome on the grill and possibly the Lexus symbol too. Depending on how it looks!
I'll be sure to take pictures of my car today as well as when it's done to show people what it looks like!
