JDM Aristo Tail Light conversion?
Hey guys! I just did the Aristo tail light conversion and it looks great. The only problem I have is my tail light failure light is illuminated on the dash. I was just going to use the USDM harness and let the extra bulb just hang somewhere but the extra bulb just hanging and bouncing around bothered me. Then I read that I need to use US 1157 bulbs in the JDM harness because the JDM bulbs have a different wattage and resistance rating...that turned out to be false. I also thought about pulling the malfunction bulb from the cluster but I don't like that idea very much either. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

The USDM harness has 3 sockets/bulbs and the JDM tail lights only have 2 spots so there will be an extra socket/bulb just hanging there. What did you do with the extra bulb?

Weird. Mine plugged right in. We have discussed 3 different JDM tail light options here before maybe you have a different set than I got. Mine look identical to stock just the center panel says Aristo instead of gs300.

Here is a pic of what I have. I think they are considered the kouki version.

Yeah that is the later version. I got I think the oldest version. Diode dynamics sells resistors as well as radio shack etc. Id just figure out what that bulb should have and wire up a resistor in the 2 sockets that are unused.

Yeah I had the same issue, I just put my USDM one back in and let it dangle inside the trunk. You have to leave a bulb in it though because otherwise it'll leave a light on too. You can always wrap it in some foam or something to keep it from banging around but honestly, I havent had any issues.
